A Medieval Makeover: Redesigning the UI, Logo, and Environment for Save The Village

Published on:

As we continue developing Save The Village, the game has naturally evolved in both scope and style. What started with a more casual, mobile-inspired user interface (UI), logo, and blocky environment has grown into something far more epic. It became clear that we needed a visual overhaul to match the heart of the game. Enter our new medieval-themed UI, logo, and a completely redesigned natural, stylized environment!

Why We Changed It

When we first started working on Save The Village, the game had a lighter, more casual aesthetic that leaned into the feel of a mobile game, with a blocky, simplistic environment. But as we explored the game’s world, its characters, and the atmosphere we wanted to build, we realized it deserved a richer, more immersive presentation. The original visuals no longer reflected the serious, strategic gameplay that was emerging.

With the game rooted in a fantasy-driven medieval world, we decided to embark on a redesign that reflects both the essence of defending a medieval village and the more natural, atmospheric environments that players expect in a PC tower defense game.

The New Environment

One of the most significant changes we made was to the game’s environment. Initially, the world was built using blocky, simplified designs that worked well for early prototypes but felt out of place in the evolving game. Now, we’ve embraced a more natural, stylized look, replacing the rigid blocks with flowing landscapes, rolling hills, and more intricate details that make the villages feel alive.

This change enhances the immersion, creating a world that feels authentic to the medieval setting while retaining a stylized charm that adds to the game’s unique personality.

The New UI and Logo

Alongside the environment update, we completely reworked the game’s UI and logo. The old, casual style has been replaced with deep tones, aged parchment textures, and medieval-inspired elements that evoke the feeling of an ancient battlefield. Our new logo features bold, sharp typography with symbols of defense and war, representing the strength and seriousness of the gameplay.

A Better Fit for Our Game

This overhaul isn’t just about aesthetics—it reflects the growth of Save The Village as a game. From a basic tower defense prototype, it has evolved into a deep, strategy-focused experience with a medieval world full of knights, skeletons, and epic battles. The new environment, UI, and logo now perfectly capture the immersive and strategic nature of the game, setting the stage for a thrilling defense experience.

We’re thrilled to share this new look and feel for Save The Village as we continue our journey towards launch. Stay tuned for more updates as the game progresses!
