Welcome to our developer blog, where we take you behind the scenes of the creation process for Save The Village! Today, I’m excited to share some insights into one of the levels we’re currently developing: Greendale Village. This level has been particularly fun to work on, especially as we dive into its unique perks, abilities, and introduce a brand-new enemy that will challenge even the most seasoned players.
Designing Greendale Village
Greendale Village is envisioned as a peaceful, lush village surrounded by rolling green hills. But don’t let its serene appearance fool you—this level will test your strategic mettle! As you defend Greendale from waves of enemies, you’ll need to make the most of its unique environment and the special perks we’ve designed specifically for this level.
Perks and Abilities in Greendale Village
We’re also introducing a new ability unique to this level called Strike. As you defend Greendale, this ability will add a dynamic layer to gameplay, as you’ll need to decide when and where to activate it for maximum impact.
New Enemy: Grim Stalker
Greendale Village will not only test your strategy with its unique perks, but it will also introduce tougher enemies. First, let’s talk about a familiar foe that’s getting an upgrade: the Bone Rattler. In this level, the Bone Rattler isn’t just your typical skeleton warrior; it’s now faster and more aggressive. With its enhanced speed, this rattling skeleton may even break into a full sprint, making it a real threat to your defenses. You’ll need to think quickly and adjust your strategy to counter this nimble enemy.
But that’s not all. Greendale Village also brings a brand-new enemy into the fray—the Grim Stalker. This menacing skeleton warrior is a force to be reckoned with, boasting significantly more hitpoints and the ability to deal greater damage than the Bone Rattler. The Grim Stalker’s durability and power will push your defenses to their limits, requiring a combination of strong firepower and clever tactics to bring down.
Together, the Bone Rattler and Grim Stalker make Greendale Village a challenging level where speed and strength are the enemy’s greatest assets. Be prepared to adapt and upgrade your defenses to withstand these formidable foes!
Polishing the Level
As we continue to develop Greendale Village, we’re paying close attention to balancing the gameplay. This includes fine-tuning the enemy waves, ensuring the perks and abilities feel rewarding, and making sure the level offers a fair but challenging experience. We’re also working on the visual polish—enhancing the lush greenery, adding more detailed textures, and ensuring that the village feels alive and vibrant.
What’s Next?
With Greendale Village shaping up nicely, our next steps involve rigorous playtesting to make sure everything flows smoothly. We’ll be listening closely to feedback to make any necessary adjustments. Meanwhile, we’re already brainstorming ideas for the next level and the unique challenges it will bring.
